DIY Mini Vinyl Records & Covers: Printable Template for Your Dollhouse
One of my favorite quick projects for my dollhouse is this printable record and cover template, a tiny stack of vinyl records and sleeves you can print, cut, and fold in about ten minutes, perfect for styling a mini living room, music corner, or bookshelf vignette.
Access the template here.
Here’s how the template works and how I put mine together.

What’s Included in the Template
The printable comes as a multi-page PDF. The first page covers the intro and materials list, the second walks through the instructions, and the rest are different design options so you can build the exact look you want.
The first two pages are records with covers:
- Option A is fully customizable. Upload your own front and back cover art, plus the record label itself.
- Option B is a quick add. Upload just one front cover design, and it shows on both sides once assembled. This page includes a record too.
The last two pages are covers only, for anyone who wants extra sleeves without a new record each time:
- The first is fully customizable, front and back.
- The second is a quick upload. Add just one front design, and it reads as the cover no matter which way you pick it up.
What You’ll Need
- The printed template (cardstock recommended)
- Scissors or a craft knife
- A bone folder or pen, for scoring clean creases
- A glue stick
How to Assemble It (My Walkthrough)
For this walkthrough, I used the quick add option for the front cover, since that was the first design I made. Here’s the process from start to finish.
Step 1: Cut it out. Cut along the outer edge of both the record cover and the small tab.
Step 2: Fold and score. Fold the cover template in half and score along the crease (I just use a pen for this). Do the same for the glue flaps.
Step 3: Glue the flaps. A regular glue stick is all you need.
Step 4: Assemble the record. If you’re printing the record itself, cut out the rectangle that holds both sides, then fold along the crease so the front and back line up exactly. Add a thin layer of glue and press until it’s fully aligned.
Step 5: Final trim. Once the glue has set, cut out the finished record. Slide it into the cover, and your mini record set is done.
Have a 3D Printer? Level It Up
Want an actual dimensional record to slide into your cover instead of a paper one? I have vinyl record STL files available on my website, ready to print and drop right in. Access it here.
Build alongside us in Lina’s Dollhouse Collective
If this build feels lonely, that is exactly what the Collective is for. Lina’s Dollhouse Collective is the Facebook group where we share ideas, put the free tools to work as part of our process, and cheer each other on through every glued finger and crooked shingle.
Inside the group you can ask the questions you do not want to post publicly, show off a build at any stage (the messy ones too), and pick up tricks the rest of us learned the hard way. We talk scale, paint, wiring, sourcing, kits, scratch builds, and yes, snack recommendations for long glue-drying breaks.
Bring your tools. Bring your scale ruler, your color palette, and your scale conversions. Bring your wins and your roadblocks. We will meet you there.
